✔️ V-Art platform launches #ArtSpaceship – the very first space art center, where 21 international projects, that expand the horizons of art, will be presented.

✔️ More than 200 applications from 54 countries were received during global #SpaceOpenCall in December 2020 that reached in general over 1.8 million people from all over the world. In January 2021 – 21 best projects had been selected by a jury of leading art and Space experts.

✔️ Using digital technology, artists reflect on the themes of space exploration, collective memory, the future of the planet, and how our civilization outside of Earth might be represented.

✔️ In the virtual interiors of the spacecraft, projects are distributed in its compartments – Command center, Ephemeral Void Passage, Human Archive, Brain Observation Lab, Wardroom / Hall of Fame.

✔️ The exhibition will be presented to the public in two formats – web version and app.

✔️ This project is accompanied by a digital catalog, which will include additional materials from artists, and essays by our authors on why they are inspired by new technologies, the future and especially Space.

Art & Culture Inside is very happy to share Citron | Lunardi’s, duo of artists we interviewed, participation in ArtSpaceship! Artists present Back up my memories!

Back up my memories is a reflection on the disquieting perspectives offered by cryopreservation. Is it possible to crystallize the brain? Can memories be frozen before death to be defrosted in the near future thanks to new scientific discoveries? Back up my memories is about the fear of losing memory and therefore of dying. Recovering memories means longing for immortality. So, the fear of losing memories will become the fear of losing data. At the same time, the video imagines a future in which the infinite digitization and quantification of data has made information overload, starting a process of crystallization. And certainly, the more we will be connected to machines that keep us alive, the more we will be imprisoned inside a global crystalline structure of data, information and technology from which we will no longer be able to separate ourselves as it could mean accepting death.
